NEW VISION CHARTER SCHOOL HISTORY

In early February of 2004, a group of parents living in the Loveland, Colorado area began casual conversations about starting a charter school in the Thompson School District (TSD). Those initial conversations soon grew into a grass-roots effort to make a K-8 charter school a reality for students in the Loveland/Berthoud area by Fall 2005. The group proposed a new school called New Vision Charter School (NVCS). We are committed to creating and sustaining a school that promotes academic excellence and sets high standards for the personal growth of all its students.

Since our start, we have been recognized for many achievements both academically and athletically. New Vision takes pride in breaking from tradition in order to do what is best for our students. We bring a new vision to education that has proven benefits for our students.

OUR COMMITMENT TO LOVELAND'S STUDENTS

At New Vision Charter School (NVCS) in Loveland, we understand that an optimal learning environment is one where children feel safe, respected, and are held to high expectations for success. We believe that children thrive in structured and disciplined surroundings that foster the development of values and character. New Vision Charter School is committed to ensuring that parents have peace of mind knowing their children are safe and treated with respect. We also recognize that parents have the expectation that their children will learn and acquire the necessary knowledge for future success. We strongly encourage and value parental involvement and input in their child's education, as active participants in the educational journey at New Vision Charter School.

Additionally, we are committed to maximizing learning and believe that small class size is a crucial part of educational success. In our kindergarten classes, we aim to have approximately 22 students, while grades 1-8 will have around 27 students per class. Maintaining these class sizes is a key objective for us. Additionally, to enhance learning opportunities, we have implemented a longer school day than other schools in the Thompson School District. Our school day runs from 7:50 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

NVCS is a public school of choice committed to transforming talents to strengths, ideas to actions, and beliefs to character through a creative and challenging learning environment.

Challenge, encourage, and empower students every day to persevere on their journey to be lifelong learners.
