Please take this time to review the following introduction letter, written by Mrs. Hejl.

Hello Nighthawk Nation,

I want to start by expressing my deepest gratitude and honor in being selected as the next Executive Director of such an esteemed educational organization! For those of you who do not know much about me, I will start with a brief introduction. I am a Colorado native who loves the outdoors and is always looking for the next great adventure. I currently reside in Jamestown, Colorado with my husband and our two amazing daughters. My experience in the world of education began at Colorado State University where I earned my Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in Secondary Education. After receiving my BA I moved to the booming metropolis of Rangely, Colorado for four and a half years. During that time I served as a Jr./Sr. High School English Teacher, Assistant Principal, Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment (K-12), and Interim Principal at the Jr./S. High School. While in Rangely I went back to school to get a Masters of Arts in Educational Leadership from Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction, Colorado. To round out my education, I am currently pursuing my Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from University of Northern Colorado in Greeley.

This is my tenth year at New Vision Charter School. I was blessed to be hired as the 6th Grade English Teacher when I first joined Nighthawk Nation in 2014. A few years later an Assistant Principal position opened up and I was honored to be selected to serve in that position. In 2019 I was hired as the 4-8 Principal and have served in that role to date. Most recently I have been able to experience NVCS as a parent of a kindergartener, which has resulted in an even deeper appreciation for our amazing school!

At the core of my leadership philosophy is a commitment to relationship-based leadership, characterized by open communication, empathy, and trust. I believe in empowering individuals to reach their full potential, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment, and cultivating strong relationships built on mutual respect and understanding. By leading with integrity and compassion, I strive to create a sense of belonging and shared purpose among all members of the school community. Above all, my passion for New Vision Charter School is unmatched. Having witnessed firsthand the transformative impact of its educational programs and the dedication of its staff, I am deeply committed to advancing its mission and vision in the future. I am excited about the opportunity to contribute my skills, experience, and passion further at New Vision Charter School in the role of Executive Director. I am confident that my background and qualifications will ensure that I will be able to advance the ongoing legacy of excellence at New Vision Charter School alongside each and everyone of you!

I look forward to what to future holds for all of us,

Marian Hejl
