Hello to all Parents and Family of NVCS Students! We hope that you had a great summer and are starting to prepare to get back into the swing of things for the academic year! We did want to let you know that Friday, August 4th we will have tables in the vestibule of the 5-8 entrance that have some free back-to-school items that will be available for pick up during the hours of 8 am to 3 pm. Save the Date: Thursday August 3rd, 2023 5:30-6:15 in the K8 New Vision Commons Area All Middle School Sports Parent Meeting The parent meeting is a beginning-of-the-year meeting for all interested in competing in middle school (6th-8th grade) Volleyball, Cross Country, Girls' and Boys' Soccer, Basketball, or Track. The meeting will talk about: Required packet that must be completed before the first day of tryouts/practice. School and league Eligibility requirements Expectations of competitions Go through changes in athletics for the 2023-2024 school year This meeting will be general information to ensure that your child will be able to participate at the start of tryouts or practice. It will allow all parents to get their information turned in as soon as possible to make sure their student can participate in tryouts and/or practice as soon as it begins. There will be a coach meeting for your sport after the first day of practice that will answer specific questions about your sport(s) and go through coaches' expectations. Last week a few of our 7th and 8th grade students embarked on an unforgettable trip to Florida! 🌟✈️ These incredible young explorers had an absolute blast diving into Gulf Coast Ecosystems, swimming with manatees, and immersing themselves in the wonders of nature. 🌊🌿 They also had the chance to visit the Tampa Zoo, where they encountered fascinating wildlife, and toured the Clearwater Aquarium, a marine life rescue and recovery center where the famous dolphin, Winter, from the movie "A Dolphin's Tale," was rehabilitated. 🐠🐢 The adventure continued as our students kayaked and snorkeled down a scenic river, making memories that will last a lifetime. 🚣‍♀️🏊‍♂️ We're incredibly proud of our students' enthusiasm for exploration and their eagerness to learn through real-life experiences. 🎓🌍 Looking ahead, mark your calendars because next year's Spring Break destination is none other than the captivating capital of the United States, Washington DC! 🇺🇸✨ Get ready for an educational and awe-inspiring journey that will broaden horizons and create lasting memories. 🏛️🌆 Stay tuned for more information as we embark on another remarkable adventure together! 🌟🎒

NVCS K-3 Families - After reviewing multiple weather apps and evaluating the condition of our field, we will be moving our NVCS K-3 Field Day inside. We will be doing activities all throughout the building and cannot accommodate spectators. If you volunteered, please plan on attending during your volunteer time. We are sorry for the inconvenience, but we look forward to an incredible indoor field day with lots of fun and memories for your students.

On April 27th, our second graders took a trip back in time and celebrated Pioneer Day by traveling the infamous Oregon Trail! 🗺️🤠 These young explorers faced challenges like broken wagon wheels, wild weather, disease, and even encountered Native Americans on their journey. Additionally, our students had a blast making butter and playing the same games that pioneer children would have enjoyed. We are so proud of our students for embracing history and using their imagination to bring it to life! #NewVisionCharterSchool #PioneerDay

Remember to welcome summer in style with our upcoming Beach Blast Middle School dance, taking place Friday from 6:30-8:30 PM! ☀️🏖️🪩 For just $5 admission, students can join in on the fun and show some support for the Harrington Arts Alliance! Don't forget to bring a little extra cash for concessions to help support the New Vision Characters Drama Club. Students can dance the night away with friends, or get their game on with some beach games and volleyball in the gym. We are excited to celebrate the end of the school year and can't wait to see you all there!

The 6th grade Creative Problem Solving class recently had an amazing opportunity to escape school for a couple of hours and visit the Time Emporium Escape Room. 🥳🕵️ During this adventure, students had the chance to play in the rooms, discover what happens behind the scenes, and ask the owner, Jeff, some burning questions about how the rooms are created, where the ideas come from, and some secrets of the trade. With all this new knowledge and inspiration, our students are excited to put their creative problem-solving skills to the test and create their own escape room right here at school! We couldn't have done it without our amazing community partner, Time Emporium, who generously provided this experience at no cost to the school or students. Let's give a huge shoutout to Time Emporium for reminding us of the value in building community partnerships!

New Vision Charter School community, don't forget that Wednesday, May 3rd is National and Colorado Bike and Roll to School Day! This day is all about celebrating the fun and freedom that comes with active transportation while fostering a sense of community and school spirit.
